Semester End

It's been awhile since I served in an academic library and I'd forgotten the letdown that can occur at the end of the semester. I got attached to some of the students who regularly came into the library and it was poignant to see them go this week. Several came by to tell me they'd made an A in the classes I helped them with and a couple dropped off copies of the research papers they'd made A's on. One left me with a copy of a 26-line poem she'd written in perfect alphabetical sequence, beginning the first line with an A word and the 26th line with a Z word. The double beauty of her poem was that the end of each line flowed seamlessly into the beginning of the next - I would never have noticed the A-Z sequencing if Pam hadn't pointed it out to me. It goes to show - we have some highly creative, talented students at TCC NW.
